I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
A southern lapwing in Parque Nacional Iguazu, Argentina. Thesouthern lapwing(vanillus chilensis) is a common, widespread wading bird in South America except in densely forested regions, the higher part of the Andes mountains, and the drier coast of much of western South America. It is also round in Central America and the Cari9bbean. It can be found beside lakes, along river banks and in open grasslands.
The only crested wader in South America, the southern lapwing measures from 12" to 15" in length. Its upperparts are mainly brownis gray with a bronze glossing on the shoulders. The head and crest is mainly gray with a black forehead and a black throat patch that extends to a black chest. There is a small white parch just below the reddish eyes. The underparts are white. The eyes are red and the legs and base of the bill are a dull pink, while the tip of the bill is black. There is a broad white wing bar in front of the black flight feathers.
About Norman Johnson
Like many of the old generation of photographers, I began with a Kodak box brownie when I was a kid. When I saw what resulted, I was hooked. Benjamin Harrison in 1966 where I got more intensive training in photography and photojournalism and practiced that craft in Vietnam and the United States. I studied with the Famous Artists and Famous Photographers Schools to help hone my skills. I study the composition, use of light, contrasts of intensities of color, etc. of artists works that I catch my eyes to help me hone my skills. I...
