This watercolor painting by Marilyn Smith is an imaginary street scene in beautiful, old Italy. A young couple, holding hands, and walking in the sunset lighting of late afternoon, will soon be sitting at the cafe table on the sidewalk and enjoying a glass of red wine as the sun goes down. The street is lined with many different cobblestones which create so much interesting texture. The archway leads you from one neighborhood to another with the buildings creating wonderful streams of sunlight and shadows. Lights are beginning to come on in some of the windows as nighttime approaches.
