Artist's Description
Split-Rock Lighthouse broke ground in 1908 and was first lit in 1910. The original 2nd Order Bi-Valve Fresnel Lens could be seen 22 miles out on the water. The 68 feet tall, octagonal brick lighthouse is situated atop of a very high rock formation.
This beautiful lighthouse was immortalized by the U.S. Postal Service as a stamp.
The light was deactivated in 1969 and is now a Minnesota State Park about 18 miles north of Two Harbors. The GPS coordinates are:
Latitude: 47.19985
Longitude: -91.3671

Create something wonderful that has a piece of your own heart on it. The emotions that drive us human beings also drive our art. The viewer is respectfully reminded my works are copyright protected. Please visit me often. Kindest...

I wish I could get to see each of these magnificent lighthouses that you have recreated in your own inimitable style. If these were 3 dimensional - like the Christmas villages - I'd definitely be collecting them. As it is, they're on my wish list! Love this so much Anne. F/V
